Описание работы
Movie translation can be evidenced, for example, in movie theatres or while watching TV at home, and in both cases errors or omissions in subtitles catch the eye of many. It is obviously not acceptable if a subtitle has several misprints or translation errors, but in fact, the preparation of movie subtitles requires consideration of a number of details that make this type of translation complicated. The following provides an overview of some of the principles that apply to movie translation.
This paper will focus on cinema translation. The first part of this paper sets out to present the above-mentioned translation modes and their world distribution, cultural transmission and reception of cinema translation, the second chapter deals with the problem of translating movie titles.
The objectives of our work are to look through the translation of cinema from the different points, show what dubbing and subtitling mean, how it is connected with culture and to regard difficulties in translating film titles.
The paper aims to demonstrate that dubbing is a form of domestication whereas subtitling can be regarded as foreignisation, and show some problems in translation films.
