The current importance of the present research is evident because mining, oil and gas materials are employed in professional communication. Its most conspicuous feature is the abundance of terms denoting objects, phenomena and processes characteristic of some particular field of science and technique. This style is also known for its precision, clarity and logical cohesion which is responsible for the repeated use of such cliches as: "Proceeding from..."; "As it was said above..."; "In connection with.." and other lexico-syntactical forms emphasizing the logical connection and interdependence of consecutive parts of the discourse. The main aim of the present research is to study peculiarities of terms translation. The aim has identified the following tasks: • To identify peculiarities of translation of terms • To study peculiarities of mining and oil and gas terms translation • To point out definition of terms pertaining to the oil and gas industry. The subject of the research is technical documents regarding drilling procedures used in drilling companies of Kazakhstan. The object is the problem of translation technical terms in drilling from English into Kazakh. The theoretical and practical value of the research is that it can be helpful for young teachers and students in their scientific research works and conducting lessons.
