Current importance of this issue is evident because phraseological units have a figurative meaning, which differs from the literal meaning that words usually (and considered in isolation) have. For that reason the study, knowledge, and command of the actual use of phraseological units is an exciting field of study for linguists, particularly for those whose main job is to teach a foreign language. The Kazakh language is highly idiomatic. The idioms, part and parcel of the language, add immensely to its richness. Their variety is accounted for by the historical development of the Kazakh language. The main aim of the present research is to study peculiarities of translation of phraseological units. This aim has identified the following tasks to be solved within the frame of the research: • To study phraseology as a subsystem of language • To investigate types of phraseological units • To make an overview of phraseological problems of translation • To investigate accepted ways of translation of phraseological units The methods of investigation: Method of comparison: This method is used in drawing similarities and differences between the theories taken from various investigations. Demonstration method: Some authentic materials are presented with the help of this method.
