The current importance of the present research is determined by the general modern linguistic direction to the study of proverbs in general and English proverbs in particular and also to the representation of woman with regard to their gender features. The main aim of the research is to study concept of woman in English proverbs. The aim has identified the following tasks of the research: • to study theory of concept from different points of view • to consider the structure of the concept • to investigate the methodology of describing the concept • to make analysis of concept of woman in English proverbs The practical relevance of the research is that it can be used by students of foreign languages department to improve their theoretical background about proverbs.
