The current importance of the present research is evident as soon as a lot of foreign investors are opening their businesses in our country. And the problem of correct translation of contracts, claims and other legal documents should be solved in the process of preparing future translaotrs and interpreters. The object of the work is legal translation. The subject is the analysis of translations of legal texts. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the main difficulties of legal translation and discuss whether they justify claims that it is a category in its own right. It proposes a wide-ranging definition of legal translation, which calls into question some received notions about its inherent difficulties. The tasks of the work are: - to characterise legal documents in English language; - to look through the peculiarities of legal translation; - to see the peculiarities of translation of legal terms; - to analyse the translation of legal texts.
